With Love – Kirstyn and Josh

Our Story

Kirstyn and Josh met while attending South Dakota State University in Brookings. Kirstyn was studying nursing and Josh was studying mathematics, but they were both involved in the Honors College. Kirstyn had planned an Honors Spring Break Service-Learning trip and Josh signed up to go. They got to know each other on the trip but it wasn’t until several months later that they started to get to know each other better. During the summer of 2015, they both worked for the Classroom Technology Services at SDSU. The rest is history! They started dating in August of 2015 and have been together ever since.

Josh decided to propose in Spring of 2019, but had his plans foiled several times. He planned to propose while camping in the Black Hills, but never found the right moment. Then he planned to propose on a trip to Miller but forgot the ring! Finally, on July 14th, Josh got down on his knee while hiking around Lake Mitchell saying he could not wait any longer to make Kirstyn his wife! Of course Kirstyn said yes, even though she was covered in hives from an allergic reaction! She decided that if Josh still wanted to marry her covered in hives, sweaty from hiking, and ugly crying from the proposal, then it must be real!

Kirstyn and Josh now reside in Mitchell, South Dakota with Josh working as a Data Scientist at Cortrust Bank in their credit card department and Kirstyn working at Avera Orthopedics as an RN. They are so excited to share this special day with you!
